Sports & Exercise Psychology Services

Individual Sport Psychology Support

Individual sessions designed to help athletes strengthen confidence, manage pressure, and develop psychological skills that support consistent performance.

Sessions may focus on areas such as focus under pressure, emotional regulation, performance routines, and building steady confidence in training and competition environments.

Athlete Transition Support

Sport careers naturally involve periods of change. Injury, deselection, academy release, retirement, or uncertainty about the future can shift how athletes see themselves within sport.

Psychological support during transition focuses on rebuilding confidence, navigating uncertainty, and developing clarity around identity, direction, and future pathways within or beyond sport.

Exercise & Health Psychology Support

Educational and applied sessions exploring how menstrual health, complex health conditions, stress, and performance interact within real sporting environments.

Sessions combine research-informed insights with open discussion, helping athletes, coaches, and organisations develop greater awareness and more supportive performance cultures.

Mentoring

Mentoring sessions are available for undergraduate students interested in developing within the field of sport and exercise psychology.

Sessions provide a supportive space to explore career pathways and reflect on academic learning.  Mentoring may also support students preparing for final year of study, considering postgraduate training, or exploring applied opportunities within sport.

Mentoring is focused on professional development and career guidance rather than psychological support.

Sessions are available as one-off consultations or short mentoring blocks depending on the level of support required.

How the Process Works

Psychological support works best when it is structured and collaborative. Here is what the process typically looks like.

  • An initial conversation to understand your goals, current challenges, and context.

  • We clarify what meaningful progress looks like and develop a structured plan.

  • Sessions focus on building practical strategies, strengthening confidence, and integrating tools into real performance environments.

Rowland, Sport and Exercise Science Student

“The sense of direction I've had since mentoring started is one of a kind. I wouldn't get that by navigating my placement normally or with another mentor.”
